The Insane

In my never ending attempts of avoiding real work, I ran across a new title/achievement that blizzard might be adding in the next patch: Insane in the Membrane. As the title would suggest, you have to be dedicated to the point of insanity (or named wahoofish) to get this one.

Its rep based, but with some of the most obscure factions possible:

* Honored with Bloodsail Buccaneers
* Exalted with Booty Bay
* Exalted with Everlook
* Exalted with Gadgetzan
* Exalted with Ratchet
* Exalted with Darkmoon Faire
* Exalted with Ravenholdt
* Exalted with Shen'dralar

this blog has some links to the different factions and how to get rep w/ them:

Good luck, and try not to get hauled off in a white coat attempting this one.

-Vizeroth

p.s. You need a rogue to get the lockboxes for the repeatable rep quest that Ravenholdt gives. You can also get rep by killing syndicate mobs, but they only give rep points up to 1 point below honored.

Guild Updates

All,

Wanted to take a moment to bring some recent guild accomplisments to light:

  • Elwynd finally has her flying mount!

  • Seffera, Acherus, Wowsham, and Jirk have all hit 70 or greater with their respective toons.

  • Songbird was recently promoted within the guild and is on the way up!!

  • Mustardhead purchased a nice epic trinket and since it had no slots he could not misenchant it.

  • Wahoofish recently completed his first 25-man Obsidian Sanctum and nobody yelled at him the whole time.

  • Elwynd won the February Meat Master title with 100 mammoth and dethroned Vizeroth. Who will take home the meat in March!! Can Elwynd defend her title?

  • Davey continues to make alts..he has so many I cannot count them but I am sure they live in a shoe...get it? Daveycrockett lived in a shoe..had so many alts he did not know what to do :)

  • The guild purchased their final bank tab so check it out..lots of stuff to choose from.

  • Cloth Master tourney is scheduled (moved) to this Saturday at 8pm Server time (February 28th).

  • Garnog and Luniera went on vacation and have not been seen since :) I think they were abducted by aliens and are enjoying the close examination.

  • Patch 3.1 is coming soon and will allow dual-speccing. Also a new instance/raid will be introduced in this patch. Do not forget to update your addons.

  • Sabr is still looking for heroics..lets help her out. I heard if we do not she will visit the wrath of Tampa on us all :)

This is the update for now...look forward to playing with all of you.

Now What?

Well..the Love Festival is over and I sense a little bit of despair within the guild :)  Yes, the festival has ended and so has your chances for titles, pets, and unrequited love.  Well you still have a chance at unrequited love..after all I still send a lock of my hair to Britney Spears once a week.

Now that the Love Festival is done what do you do now?  Well sweet sassy molassey! I have some ideas:

1.  Get back to leveling if that is what you were doing.
2.  Continue to raise cash for that elusive epic mount.
3.  Start doing daily dungeons and daily heroics.
4.  Work on your professions.
5.  Get a guildie to run your lowbies though instances.  We will all do it!
6.  Run old world instances for achievements.
7.  Hunt down rares in BC and WOTLK.
7.  Do anything for achievements.
8.  PUG a raid if you like or try to pull one together from Tortugas.  As I have mentioned in the past, we are not a raiding guild but if there is enough interest we can try it.  However, I will never schedule more than raid per tw0-week period :)  Too much pressure.
9.  Do some guild recruiting.  We are always looking for new members.

The bottom line is that the game is robust and complex and there is always something to do so do not despair.

For example, last night I was bumping around Onslaught Harbor just doing some dailies to raise rep and a NPC told me to GO TO HELL!  Now that is cool..just doing my job and getting some lip for it.  There is quite a bit of hidden content in this game that is just cool to discover like Mr. Pinchy, the Westfall Chicken, and the rares in both BC and WOTLK.

The bottom line is that I want everyone to continue to have fun and if you need help you will get it.  You pay to play so make some hay!!

Love is in the Air!!

All,

Love is in the air!! seriously..check it out...everyone is looking for love in Darnassus, Ironforge, and Stormwind. All you have to do is send out your scent like a Skunk :)

This festival is the latest on the quest to the Holiday Mount. So of course, an achievement $$$$ like me is chasing it hard. In fact..I have nearly finished it. YAY!!

While this statement does pat me on the back...all is not lost for the rest of you guildies. I am going to start putting all the city items for these quests in the guild bank so you can save time and pull them out to move you along faster. Any item needed for the city gift boxes and the alliance gift package will be in the guild bank this evening so help yourself.

p.s. Do not forget Underbog run tonight..I am planning to lead it but (just in case..read Wife ear infection)..I will appreciate if two of the 80s can step up to lead this run..just need two 80s and then the lowbies :)

Thanks,

Emeriss the Dragon

Okay..we tried this last night and it did not go so EPIC..in fact we FAILED!

However, since most of us are no stranger to failure and can do research I have found the skinny on our friend Emeriss the Dragon at http://www.wowwiki.com/Emeriss

Basic strategy is such:

  1. Pull Emeriss to the raid, then turn her around so she is facing up the ramp. Healing should be on the MT, and everyone should be away from the tail. Ranged should be at a good distance and not clustered so they can avoid the sleep clouds more easily.

  2. Have the second tank run in to cover for the MT should he be put to sleep. Neither of them will be able to taunt.

  3. After a while, call for the raid to assist. Melee should hit her hind legs (rather than her butt) to avoid getting tailwhipped. Ranged should be spread out at max range.
    Steady dps, have the majority of the healers on the MT; make sure the secondary tank knows what to do if he takes aggro cause the MT got sleeped.

  4. At 75%, 50%, 25% health, have melee move further than 100 yards out of range to avoid her AoE DOT. (Have priests move as well, and druids / pallies/ shaman healing MT during this DoT).

  5. Be sure you don't get slept during her Corrupted Earth DoT, watch your positioning! Consider putting a healing group on her left, and another on her right, in case this happens.
    When Emeriss performs Corruption of the Earth, she will yell "Taste your world's corruption!". This is the cue for the group to melee and the rest of the group to return to their original positions.

  6. Do not die! Use a potion or bandage where possible.

  7. Greater Nature Protection Potions seemed to absorb damage from those who died and sprouted mushrooms.

  8. Not a vital note for the fight, but the Noxious Breath DoT persists on the MT after Emeriss dies, its rather funny the whole guild celebrating and 5 seconds later the MT falls over dead, just remember to heal him after Emeriss dies.

I think if/when we want to try this again we can do it with 20 people if 10 of them are 80s. We definitely need two tanks. We can bring as many as 40 so there you go :)

Off Topic: I am setting an Ahn Qiraj raid for later this week so people can get mounts. I will place information on the website and send out calendar invite this week.

Thanks,

Addons - Here to Make Your Life Easier

All,

Many of you, heck, probably all of you know about and use addons. But if not I am going to draw attention to what they are and how nice they are to have. Translation...Use Them!! :)

Addons are programs that people have developed that interact seamlessly with the WOW interface to improve your playing experience. There are multitudes of addons that make all things easier to automate and more efficient such as Healing, Tracking Damage or Aggro, determining the best price to sell something for, tracking quest locations, determining boss loot, etc.

You are probably asking yourself "Holy Shmoley Guacomole! How do I find these fabulous addons and make my life so much better. This is even better than the underwear I got for Christmas!". Well..fortunately for you, I have the answer(s).

There are several locations to get addons. I personally recommend www.curse.com but you can google WOW addons and find several sites. Curse is good because they also have a program that automates the installation of addons and keeps track when updates are available. This is nice if you are not as computer savvy as..say..Mustardhead or Kryston.

I have provided a list of some of the addons that I use and find them nearly indispensable at this point:

  • Auctioneer - Want to know how much to sell something for..this is the tool.
  • Auctionater - Same principle but more lightweight than auctioneer.
  • Carbonite - Great for tracking quests and finding map locations.
  • Deadly Boss Mods - Want to know when a boss is going to drop a debuff or fearsome attack..this is what you need.
  • Atlasloot - Wonder what gear a particular boss drops..Here is the answer.
  • PallyPower - Helps to dispense and automate group buffing for pallys.
  • Healbot - A must for all healers..makes healing a very easy process.
  • Outfitter - Want to switch gear seamlessly with one click..this is what you use.
  • Fishing Buddy - Keeps track of every fish you ever catch and provides statistics on catch probability for any body of water.
  • Gatherer - Similar to fishing buddy but does the same for mining, herbs, etc.
  • Recount - Gives you a built in dps/healing meter so you can find your most effective build.
  • Omen - Lets you know if you are beginning to build more threat than the tank.
  • TitanPanel - Better action bar interface and also tracks items like gold, bag space, location, time to level, etc. A MUST HAVE!!

This is just a partial list and you can always find more specific addons for your class, profession, etc.

Bottom line..use addons..they make life easier!!

Thanks,

Wahoofish
