Welcome New Members

All,

I would like to welcome all the new members that have joined over the past few days.  It is great to have like-minded people in the guild.  I reiterate that this guild is about as low pressure as a guild can be.  We actually do enjoy running low level guildmates through instances, helping guildies with quests or leveling, and just enjoying the friendship and humor of each of our very unique guild members.

Every member of this guild brings great value.  As I have said in our mission statement this guild is a representation of all of us and how we enjoy playing the game.  Never forget that you pay to play this game and have fun...never allow yourself to feel any pressure for that and never ever allow yourself to be criticized for your play style.  Last time I checked there is no such thing as the WOW Police..well..I mean GW Bush is a private citizen now so that could be coming :)  But for now just focus on playing your character any way you want.

Our guild activities will allow us to do most anything any member wants to do..we also have a very good relationship with other guilds that specialize in more specific tasks like raiding, etc. that are always willing to take a Tortugas Haven along so do not despair if you do want to raid..the opportunity is there :)

I am rambling like John Belushi in Animal House but my goal is to let each of you know that you are all very welcome to be who you want to be in this guild..there are no expectations except that you have fun!!

Thanks,

Guild Contests this Weekend!!

Guildies,

This weekend promises to be a very busy one for Tortugas Haven.

On Friday the 30th we have the "Meat Master" competition. The rules of this contest are simple..the guildie who collects the most "cookable" level specific meat within 45 minutes wins the "Meat Master" title for the month. By level specific I mean that you are farming meat from mobs that are within 5 levels of your current level. For those over 70, you should be farming in Northrend. For those over 58, you should be farming in Outlands..etc. etc. etc. I shall serve as the final judge and all meat will be turned into me in Ironforge at the conclusion of the contest. I will then cook up the meat and place it into the guild bank.

On Saturday the 31st we have the "Cloth master" competition. Again, 45 minutes to farm as much level specific cloth as possible. All cloth will be turned into me in Ironforge and placed in the guild bank.

Current title holders are:

Meat Master - Vizeroth
Cloth Master - Vacant
I look forward to seeing you all and let the contests begin!!

Lunar Festival Fun

Guildmates,

If you have not yet had the thrill of participating in the Lunar Festival it is definitely worth the time. I have been busy traveling the world of Azeroth talking to Lunar Elders and the nearly useless Coin of Ancestry is always a great treasure to receive. However, I will provide an easy way for some of you to get your Dungeon coins without actually having to run the dungeon...

1. Just announce in one of the chat channels that you need a particular instance elder and see if anyone is nearing completion of that instance. If so they can finish and invite you to the instance where you run through mob free to get the elder.

The benefit of the Lunar Festival is that you can score some serious bling in terms of pantsuits (thank you Hillary Clinton) and other useless rewards that you purchase with your ...wait for it...COINS OF ANCESTRY.

Seriously, if not for the promise of a mount down the road..would anyone do the Lunar Festival?

Thanks,
